BROOTWORTH

As I hold my breath, I slowly drift, drift into currents, feedback and noisy signals. I enter spaces I am not part of.

Brootworth is a test site to explore the interstitial space between the body and the environment, often confusing one for the other. Emotional and melancholic compositions, almost too close, are opposed by abstract rhythms that are almost falling apart. They don’t resolve. They press against each other, slightly brutal. Tactile and dismantled recordings fade into spoken word and low end feedback.

I’m not in control. That’s where it holds. That’s where it breaks.

With a background in Media Art and Architecture, his works are guided by material memory, the body as transmitter within ambivalent environments. His compositions fluctuate between abstract rhythms and experimental feels recordings which ultimately are creating and undoing each other.

He co-runs the Label Ghosttown, which serves as a platform for musicians to share their takes on bass driven electronic music.

EXPLOITED BODY

EXPLOITED BODY

The brainchild of Helsinki-based experimentalist Nori Kin, Exploited Body is an audial paradox – where blistering distortion collides with delicate melody, and ethereal vocals oscillate between angelic lament and demonic invocation. Their music is a visceral experience, at once hypnotic and harrowing, luring listeners into a world of staggering emotional weight and sonic extremity.

With releases on PAN, Posh Isolation, Northern Electronics, and their own imprint Changeless, Kin has steadily carved out a distinct presence in the contemporary experimental landscape. Their compositions stretch the boundaries of electronic music, fusing industrial abrasion, haunting atmospherics, and deeply personal narratives into something both intimate and overwhelming.

HÜMA UTKU

HÜMA UTKU

Hailing from Istanbul, the composer and sound artist Hüma Utku delves into the possibility of how raw sonic textures, electronic experimentation and acoustic composition can be used as means to conduct artistic introspection, sonic expression and conceptual exploration. She fuses field recordings, analog synthesisers and atmospheric ambience into harmonious noise woven into harsh ritualistic rhythms, as means to utilise sound for storytelling. Combining her self-taught practice of music with her higher education in psychology, Utku's work as a whole draws inspiration from various layers of human condition and the complementary nature of dualities.

She presented her work and performed across the world, including Dark Mofo, Berlin Atonal, Salon IKSV Istanbul, CTM Festival, Donaufestival, Lunchmeat, Kunsthaus Zürich, Sonic Acts, MONOM, Stockholm Royal College of Music, among others.

In 2018 she released her first EP Şeb-i Yelda was released by Karlrecords followed by her debut full-length album Gnosis in 2019 via the same label. The Psychologist was released on Editions Mego in 2022. Her new album Dracones, released on Editions Mego in April 2025, revolves around the theme of matrescence and received high regard by the international press among which her work has been praised for its ‘’Lynchian’’ sonic qualities (taz zeitung).

SANNA LU UNA

SANNA LU UNA

Liberated vocals are joined by dreamy synths, brass, chamber music, glockenspiel, field recordings, and metallic beats: Sanna Lu Una, musician and producer, creates new worlds with her music, splashing into the wide waters of avant-garde pop, only to joyfully break the bounds of the genre over and over again. Her songs address existentialist questions, playfully wrapped in fantastic imagery. The lyrics are like a dream language, communicating in metaphors and symbols, enabling vivid and visual reflection.

Her debut album Pierce the Ground breaks the surface, looking deep at what lies beneath. The songs explore humanity’s inseparable relationship with nature, including our own personal one, in a world that is increasingly separating itself from the very nature it needs. Inner processes become tangible and audible, mirroring a journey to oneself.

At live shows her expressive voice is front and center. Surrounded by cinematic sounds and joined by cellist Angelo Beltrame, Sanna Lu Una evokes a space of profound emotion, transforming the stage into a vast landscape where the inside manifests itself on the exterior.

Strange yet beautiful, intense yet rewarding.
